Long story short, my 1242 conversion uno blew the headgasket and while off the road my bro gave me his 1.6 mk2 golf, the golf looks bad ass on some bbs alloys but the fuel consumption is horrific. 1.6 carb and only 4 speed!!! Anyway, i just took my Uno out for a long test drive down a few country roads and all i can say is i ****ing love it AGAIN! So much better road hold, sharper steering and the most important thing is, better fuel economy

I think what sways it is avo adjustables all round and lowered 30mm, plus UT rack and anti roll bar and i welded in mk2 golf recaros i got for free.

I don't think i'm ever gonna get rid of it, started life as a humble 999cc base model, also has 4-2-1 stainless manifold with decat and 40mm tricker throttle body waiting to go on plus punto wiring loom and ecu.

So it's running on carb now but you're going to put in MPI with matching ECU etc? Is it 16v or 8v?

No it is running the standard 32mm 999cc spi unit but i will be fitting a 40mm tricker spi throttle body. And yea i will have to fit the crank sensor, map sensor, coil packs and the wiring loom with ecu fitted with a mckritch chip to bypass immobiliser. It's 8v btw
