Seemingly, police up this way are going to start issuing fixed penaltys for vehicles that are not properly clear of snow. With a focus on build ups left on car roofs.

Seems nobody up here bothers clearing theres, so obviously when they brake harshly their windscreen is covered and the wipers can't clear it.

Not sure how much truth is in this, but surely it's common sense anyway to make sure your cars clear enough of snow before setting off?:juggle2:

I've heard this from a couple of people now. Either it's true or the jungle drums in the North East are working overtime.

I'm kicking myself over this. I stayed overnight last night to make sure I got in for 6am and now have a nice build up of snow on the car. The soft brush is at home and I doubt we've got anything gentle enough at work to clear it without scratching my roof :bigcry:

Maybe I'll crawl on to the roof and make an angel to clear it

It's a hoax folks (yeah yeah, poet etc). Police may stop you if you haven't cleared your windscreen properly and if you crash because a mound of snow has cascaded down your windscreen obscuring your vision you are likely to be done for something driving related. Other than that they have better things to do with their time apparently (speeding anyone?)

Oh, and they're getting a bit pissed off with people asking lol

Seemingly its genuine enough. Some bod from Grampian Police was on North Tonight talking about this last night apparently!

My last source works for Grampian Police and he may be legit but it's hard to call. He knows I clear my car as a matter of course therefore has no need to warn me.

But there are a lot of people who don't and I hope that's who they target

However...

Don't give them any excuse ever
