Jumpstyle

Jumpstyle

Looks like a less celtic-style riverdance to me. Should make it easier for uncoordinated dancefloor divs like me to fit in if this goes mainstream. Looks like fun to be honest

It's been done many times before but with different names & maybe a few tiny changes - perhaps incorporating elements from other, similar, styles.
e.g. 'double dutch' - primarily a skipping comp but the improvements made included various kicks and steps which are not dissimilar.
Also MC Hammer...

And, as has been said, riverdance (with more exxagerated movements.)

Why not make it a little more interesting and do it at a proper speed of music.

A few suitable songs i have come across.

Actually if im honest im going on more of a History lesson.

I remember the UK version of this, years ago.

Then i was like i have heard a different version im sure.

Then Basshunter got hold of it for the Harder Style (used for Jumpstyle)

I cant seem to find the upfront hardcore version :-(

I only listened to really fast HH for a few years and nothing else. It was very strange when I heard the originals or other dance music. I would feel like my brain had slowed down. I would say the slowmos like you get on E but not sure many people would know.
I listen to a lot more Hardcore genres now which go as slow as 140 bpm. I still can't handle normal clubs though.

Basshunter has actually done some really good Stuff. People always just think of the commercial stuff he's done. Unfortunately a few hardcore Djs need to sell out every now and then. By taking a soft introduction to the masses you are inviting them into the underground, otherwise the scene would be too niche and stagnate.

Im going to do a thread to see if anybody is up for this. http://retrotraxfestival.co.uk/
A friend messaged me the other day, after seeing the poster Facebook Slipmatt's page after Another friend did a small install in his car (which I really wanted to help with but they did it during the week) and he posted up some comments

I used to live in Belgium where they are into that (Germany and the Netherlands are too).

It might me that but I think they called it Hardstyle or Shuffling?

Jumpstyle is Taken from Hardstyle, which in the Netherlands its pretty much Just called Hardcore. We need to call it something different as Hardcore over in Europe is different to UK Hardcore. Uk hardcore is actually Upfront Hardcore which is made at around 185 BPM whilst they do make it that Fast in Europe that is what we generally call Gabber. Hardstyle is normally closer to 150 BPM.
I personally prefer all styles of Hardcore spun at 195-200bpm.
