Since I put my Cinq alloys on, when I corner fast (becuase I can) I get a shaking, jumping feeling. As if the wheels are pushing sideways instead of rolling round the corner. It only happens when it a tight corner, usually get it if I accelerate whilst going through a tight corner.

I know it isn't rubbing because it doesn't happen when on lock parking or manouvering. Is it just something i need to stop doing, or is there a way around this?

Have you gone to a lower profile tyre as a result of this change? Is it equally bad when cornering left or right?

Could be rubbing due to the roll caused by cornering hard, not always easy to appreciate whilst the car is still. If you haven't already, check the wheel bolts of course!

Don't check the bolts later... make up an excuse and check them now... PLEASE!!:D

Have you had the tracking checked recently? Wider tyres will make anything like that more noticable... Also I noticed a similar thing recently and upon inspection one of my track rod ball joints was worn out. Whilst you are checking that check the suspension bushes... Worn bushes could lead to wobbly cornering... I found that one of mine was knackered the other day and am currently procrastinating writing this rather than repairing my car in the pissing rain! :p

Let us know what it is...

Good luck, Luke. (y)

Be aware!!!! Shape of wheel bolts for alloys are different then on a steel wheels (steel = conic contact shape- bolts), so if you use your original conic wheel bolts onto new alloys - is extremely dangerous .:eek::eek:
Also is good to know that all wheel force originally - stays onto small steel ring casted onto brake disc and bolts only fix it onto (ring) place:yum::yum::yum:

The suspension bushes are a bit perished. it does pull a bit, but I put this down to crap english roads. Might be worth checking though. If i do re do all of this.. I'm tempted ogt get smaller springs too.. perhaps 30-40 mm drop. the back end sits so high and looks really silly now the wheels are smaller.

Sounds good, fit the anti-roll bar at the same time ;).

I'd like lower springs but i think my new tyres are 185/60 and I don't reckon my arches'd last a week if I dropped Sparky 40mm :p.

In fact there's a new thread right there........

You can do all that stuff to a panda easier; we got more space under the bonnet than they have... Requires a bit of ingenuity but it does with cinqs too... Just cause nobody's writing about it here doesn't mean it's not happening; the Pandamonium car is out there somewhere as is a turbocharged original panda owned by a guy Kev knows...

Christ, the Pandamonium car has independent rear suspension and 150 odd BHP... It's worth a thought...

Check out the Y10 turbos; they were basically turbo pandas in a party frock (admittedly with the 1050 south american engine).

Time for a project car I think Craig, I'm with Kev on that one!!

Panda Power!! :D
