Technical JTD throttle 'jerkiness'

I have a bit of a problem with a JTD 115. While driving at very small throttle openings there is a 'jerkiness' in the way the car moves, almost as if the accelerator pedal is too sensitive. It happens in any gear & is independent of road speed. Once away from small throttle openings all is fine.
Anyone got any ideas?
I wish there was a Haynes for this car. The CD I've got is totally useless!

I'm no expert but I recall something about TPS causing this (throttle position sensor) as opposed to the EGR problem which seems to show itself as a lack of boost when driving.

There could be a air mass meter fault but seems doubtful with conditions described. IIRC there used to be a technical solution where the connector join was cut out and the wires individually soldered together to eliminate the poor terminal contacts within the xpin connector.

In the passenger front footwell, look up under the dash and it should be up there secured to the dash, iirc white multi pin connector with different coloured wires on either side of the connector - write them down before cutting the wires and solder them instead of having a connector.
