hello, my fiat stilo jtd started out making a loud clattering noise at idle and is now making a loud whining noise when engine revs are increased so would you say that hav a problem with the air con pump or aux drive pulley? much appreciated!

Not worth playing guessing games with a problem like that.

It is the crankshaft Aux. drive pulley breaking up. Very common on a JTD. Get a new one soon and don't drive it if possible because if it does finally break free, it is new engine time as it smashes the cam belt housing and knocks the cam belt off. Costs about £95 for the part and is quite easy to fit.
