JTD 130 - what wheels and suspension?

Hi Guys,

As you may or may not know, I recently picked up a JTD130 Marea which has been tuned.

Because of the power, I would like to uprate the suspension and wheels (brakes have already been done).

Does anyone have any suggestions on what suspension I can use? I don't necessarily want to lower it as such, just make the ride smoother and handle better - I've heard Eibach mentioned with praise before. Also can I use the same suspension as the 2.0 20v as I've heard they are the same?

Wheels - I would like to go for 17". I don't mind buying second-hand, which other car makes fit Fiat? What is the best size (eg 205/50/17) to go for?

not sure about exact suspensions, Eibach is good though, can't see you going wrong with it.

for wheels, its personal preference! the cheapest option is probably to get some 17" stilo wheels, liek the claw, or the nice 5 spoke, the ride on mine was never that bad with stiffer suspension and 17's!

I will look into the Eibach's - does anyone know whether I need the 2.4td or 2.4jtd suspension? Are there any differences?
A lot of companies list the 2.4td for parts but not the JTD.

Wheels - what measurements do I need?

2.4TD and 2.4JTD will be the same for suspension.

Do a search for whats required for alloys or goto www.rochfordtyres.co.uk

Wheels, you can't go wrong with a nice tasty deep dished wheel

I'd say around a 30mm drop (using eibach springs) wouldn't lose you too much in terms of comfort

Hello mate, nice version of the marea you have there, anyway, i am looking into coilovers at the moment for My 20v weekend, so i will let you know if they are def availible very soon, as for 17" wheels my Oz titans might be up for sale very soon, As there possibly will be some new hoops for the rat in January, they are not in the best condition but i wouldn't be after a fortune for them (even though they cost me £900) i would probably want around £300 for them if your interested.

I will do some searches for the suspension, especially Eibach.

Rat20v - I like the alloys you are looking to sell. What size tyres are on there at the moment and what tread do all the tyres have? I may be interested in buying these! I have the money ready but would need them by January latest as my Tyres are nearly shot to pieces!

Just been searching for springs and dampers -
have found Eiback springs but no dampers.

Do Eibach make dampers for the 2.4JTD?

If not, do you recommend a make of damper for me to use?
