Technical Jerking when letting off the accelerator

Update:

I had the rear dogbone engine mount replaced. They had to change the exhaust centre pipe too because the flexi pipe was very badly rusted and had to be removed to get the bolts out of the mount. This is the reason I didn't do it myself but if you can easily get the exhaust off, it's a relatively easy job and the mount is cheap.

Anyway, I'm glad to say that was the issue!! It still kicks a bit when taking my foot off the accelerator but not half as much and the big difference is, when it happens now, it bounces back and forth a couple times and then stops. Before having the mount changed, once the jerking started, it would keep bouncing, getting progressively worse until I put my foot on the clutch. It also feels more bouncy now whereas before it felt more clunky and you could here a metallic clanking.

Hope this helps anyone with a similar problem in the future.

(Is there a way to edit the post title to include "Solved"?)

97k and 15 years here. What colour is yours? I didn't have a choice but ended up with yellow and love it!!
Hey Tessia!
As we both know YELLOW is by far the best colour right!? maybe we should start up a campaine to convince all the others to change to "the bright side!". :ROFLMAO:
On second thoughts maybe not!- as then we would not stand out so much!👍 and loose the pleasure of driving around in our "bugs" feeling superior!;):ROFLMAO:

Just my tuppence worth, but have you checked for error codes? Sounds like sticking EGR valve to me. Just as my astra used to perform, it was either hard acceleration or none, anything in between was horrible. A nasty drive when it was playing up.
I bought a new one to start with, then about two years later it started doing it again, after that I used to take it out clean it, and tap it about a bit and put it back in.

Hi.
Back to original problem. I had 1,2 8V 2008,156t km, with same symptoms. These are following controls and parts replacemens I did:
- clean and test throttle valve
- control and test accelerator pedal potenciometer
- dog bone engine stabiliser replace, even thoug original was in good condision
- spar plugs replace
- fuel filter and pumpe control
- electric cables and conectors view control
- comlete diagnostic by Bosch diagnostic software during a drive

What's a problem?

1. Accelerator pedal potenciometr was threadbare on first 0-10% of surface, The rotational speed of engine was 1100prm in neutral position → replace by new one, 39€
2. Clutch pedal has lost a small piece of plastic to pushing a clutch pedeal position sensor, so that clutch was virtualy still at "press/neutral" position → fixed sensor position by a butyl-tape at position "non-pressed" clutch pedal , 0€

Summary→ Problem solved.

Sorry to my imperfect english.

I have had customers vehicles with accelerator potenciometer issues in the past, although more like a "dead spot " in one position when moving the pedal.
Both that and the clutch pedal position sensor etc. will show up using MES Fiat diagnostics and other similar tools.:)
