I'm sure I've heard the JCB song before - I vaguely remember the video on the 'net a while ago but I can't remember where, probably circulated a forum ;)

I expect its having a huge amount of traffic at the moment due to the coverage it received on the BBC.

Seen it now but it didn't even load when Negotiator posted the link about 3 weeks ago.

I'm not going to Vote I don't "love it" but it is better then the other comments.

Its a great song by itself upto the melody change BUT with the video the melody change can be apprciated a whole lot more.

Nice tune that is.

I've held up the Bypass... cause me Tipo had no gear box.. ooohhwOOooo, I wasn't havin a top laugh... was thinkin how much it were gonna cost me... woooOOOOoooo!

The best thing about this song is the way it was written, recorded and released by two unknown musicians and has stolen the thunder away from the controlling leeches of the record industry!

The two artists involved released it off their own backs without any major label support, via Amazon. The fact that it has picked up and become popular is brilliant, because it has done so on the strength of the SONG, and to a lesser extent the video.

It hasn't been marketed or hyped up like most of the modern pop/ X Factor/ Pop Idol shallow trash that we have forced on us. It's just an unknown song that has captured the hearts of people, which to me is what music should be about. Hell, who cares if they aren't pretty looking and can't dance. But they can actually sing and play their instruments unlike most of the other manufactured rubbish that is around...

For this alone I applaud it - two small fish in the very big pond of the record industry taking on the majors and giving them an almighty kick up the butt (y)

Should it be Christmas number one? If it stops the hyped up X-Factor song getting to number one then YES! And for me, I went off 'Christmassy' songs when Cliff Richard got to number one with Mistletoe and Wine (whine?!) :yuck:

Just to support the cause of true musicians/ song writers beating the record companies, I'm going to go and buy the single tomorrow. ;)

Anyone heard the song "Big Yella Tractor" by Gimik? It's kind of a reply to the JCB song. Cool:cool:.

Love the lyrics...
What's the crack with this big yellow tractor?
It's in our way!

And talks of tailbacks from Lisburn to Shaftesbury Square (Belfast)...

I totally agree; there is too much cr*p in the charts these days. When something as talented as this comes alone it puts all the others to shame.

X factor shows are easy to make, cheap to produce and simple to market. These guys didn't do any marketing. They had there MSN Space (which shows how small they were) and sold on Amazon. You can even download their songs off their site - legally!

I hope this is the christmas number one; and not some mindless talented puppet who has someone write there songs.

Matt

Its been available for a couple of years according to the BBC news today. Just recently they've added the annimation and released it on the web.

The earliest I knew of it was August when it did the rounds on MSN spaces and my gf passed it to me, I never played it though ;) Glad it got to where it should be.

Yes. They were recently on RTE one Friday night and the interviewer commented on them having been on the very same programme two years ago with this same song. It's taken two years for it to take off.
