Hi Fiat lovers,
Can anyone tell me if you can put a 1.1 gearbox into an 899cc fiat cinquecento.?. I can get a definite answer yet ...also does anyone have one to sell as ideally would like it to be 899cc...I have got one but its quite pricey, and with p and p and vat its more than i can afford. cheers

I sold my 899 box and shaft for £30 quid back then. Just to give u a forum guide price and obv scrap yard/ebay will want much more than that!

My Cinq gear box went at the start of this year, after looking around most of the scrap yards in the gloucestershire area the cheapest i could get for a 899cc gear box was £75.
To avoid your gearbox going again try looking for one that came off of a car with lower miles than yours.

Nah, to make sure it doesn't go again, make sure its got oil in it.

what rallycinq said. lower miles is not always a good thing... even more so for engines and chassis themselves. high miles could mean lots of small trips which causes MUCH more wear to a car then driving hundreds of miles a week on a motorway
