General Is this the end of the Croma????

fact is if they dont advertise it then how can people make a choice?

Agree 100% I bet a lot of people didn`t even know it existed.

Contrast Vauxhalls pushing of the Meriva on TV with those kids...
On cable TV it seemed to be on 6 times a night.

I own a Croma and I think it's a real shame FIAT have decided to stop selling them in the UK except on special order. They're good cars, not perfect but as good as many other European models, and better than some large / family cars from the Far East, yet they just haven't sold as well.

I know some FIAT fans on this forum say they don't think of them as real FIATs, but I'm not sure why. Many manufacturers these days collaborate with other companies to share development costs.

I read in Auto Express that FIAT had hoped to sell 5000 per year, so obviously 827 in 2006 was way short. I agree with others on the forum that they should have done more to advertise it, not much hope of selling them if they don't!

This just means lots of real bargains for those of us who know about them - just check prices on autotrader.co.uk or carsource.co.uk or even e-bay!

Old thread I know, but looking at www.newcarnet.co.uk site and seeing how dramatically altered the front end of the Croma is perhaps they might consider a relaunch in the UK.

Admittedly it can't compete against the new Mondeo and the German sheep won't touch it but there are a lot of individuals out there who might be taken by its slightly bolder styling.

OMG I am deeply embarrased - I recently posted elsewhere that in my works car park (I work in a large school) I was the only person to have a Fiat - I just found out, that my bosses car, which I park next to EVERY DAY because he is the only person I trust not to ding my car with his door, has a new - *gulp* Croma  I never even noticed in SIX MONTHS. When I found out I was bewildered as to how I had not noticed and can only put it down to parking each morning in the dark, and him leaving work before me in the afternoon. I should pay more attention. It's a nice looking car, but a world apart from my Sedici - definitely a talking point between the two of us now, anyway.

My head has obviously been so far up my exhaust I didn't bother to notice - that said, I can honestly say I don't think I have seen another one of these in real life.

That's the problem, beautifully understated and a good secret that no one seems to let on about. Oh well once the Stilo gets expensive to maintain I might just be able to get one of the last Croma's

LOL just realised it doesn't even have a header in the 'FIAT Cars' section of THIS forum *sob* - ended up in 'Other Fiats' poor mite

I havent hardly seen any cromas on the road, and they appear to be a really good car from what i have seen at the garage.

They look nice and roomy, and i would choose one over a common vectra/mondeo anyday :D

I saw 4 the other day , a world record (they were all 5 doors though :D).

Then i saw 3 silver vectras following each other

I've had my Croma from new (July 06) and travel around the East and South East of England a lot. In all this time I have seen a grand total of 6 on the road. 5 were going in the opposite direction on a standard A road and when all the drivers realised it was a car the same as their's coming towards them they looked as surprised as me!:D
Much rather the Croma than a Vectra. Anybody seen the Bravo inspired face lift for 2008 and if so better or worse? (not that it matters as Fiat won't be selling it in the UK:( )
