Hello,
I believe that this subject might have been exploited but it looks like i have a problem difficult to spot.

My 105JTD top speed is 160 km/h flat and 180km/h downhill. Max enginee revs is around 4900 rpm. On of my best friend has a peugeot 307, 1.4 HDI and I can't keep up her pace.

Now, I cleaned the MAF already (which is 30.000km old), blocked the EGR. Turbo preassure is ok... what else could be wrong?

I would ask for help - Sven, any hint?

Thanks in advance

100 mph 160kph

112 mph 180kph

The top speed of a 105JTD is 117mph.

The JTD will not rev anymore than 4900rpm in 5th gear!!

There is nothing wrong with your car, thats the top speed they will do :)

Wish we could go that speed in the UK... we can only do 112kph Max ;)

He's saying his top speed is basically 100MPH in a 105JTD.

My TD100 used to go well into the 110+ region without much of an issue.

I'd try a new MAF, even though you've cleaned it.

Disconnect the MAF does it run any better or worse.

He's saying he's doing almost 5,000rpm in 5th gear.... thats all the poor girl can give!!!

All depending on the wind mine tops out (on a private runway of course) anywhere from 110-120mph... but we're talking a long runway here!!

Alfonso, how did you check the turbo preasure ??? and what was the measure in bar ??? - check all of the jubilee clips and the pipe from turbo to the intercooler for holes.

How old is the fuel filter, if its ower 20 000km - change it.
Under 20 000km, dewater it (drain the water)

Unplug the Maf connector on the sensor, disconect the negative pole on the battery, then connect it again(disconect for 30 or more sec's), then connect the connector again and reconnect and connect the negative batt pole again.

I wont be around here for 4 days again (double time for you Tommy again ;)), so if you have any other Qs, mail them to me and I will get back as soon as I can.

BTW - my JTD goes ower 180km/h no problem - now the only problem is how much does my speedo lie :)

Hello!

Thanks a lot for all your replies as I am trying to live happily with my superb Bravo!

I need to tell that the max 4900 rvs are achieved in 2nd gear... not in 5th :(.

About the top speed, I once managed to go 210 km. Of course, on the speedometer. And the 180 (downhill) takes ages to reach there.

The car has been fully serviced 3.000km ago (all filters and etc are new). I complaint for the lack of power by then and they told me that in fact the turbo preassure was not perfect but within the boundaries. The lack of power was (they said) due to a software error (!!?). So, I left the battery disconnected today to see if it resets the ECU.

The engine increases revs very slow, even with the car stopped. About the turbo, the car pulls out reasonably well between the 1800 and the 2800 rpms. The problem is below 1800 that is a bit slugish and above 3000 it really looks dead!

Thanks again for your advises. I will keep you posted on the results of this software reset.

You are all great guys!

you need a new MAFF!!!

Sorted ;)

That was quick :)

Thanks for the diagnoses. I will get a MAF from e-bay.

;)

Noooooooooooo not Ebay, they are cheap Bosch copies imported from Asia. A MAF costs £150 no less. Goto Fiat or www.shop4parts.co.uk
