Just been looking for some bits to make my engine bay a little tidier when i came across annodised Oil Filter covers, Simply slide on and tighten a few bolts, keeps the oil cooler?????

Isnt that the oil filter heatsink type thingy...

I agree rollox...even if it actually works, you would only cool about 0.20l of oil that is in your filter, what about the rest of the oil???...plus the oil doesnt stay in the filter for long enough to get cool.

it just for looks...

Yup, the actual contact area between your oil filter and the 'cooler' is tiny as the oil filter is generally ribbed (ooer) plus the surface area of the filter is quite small compared to the volume of oil it holds.

It just looks bling.

yeah I agree its rollox...who would want to look underneath your car anyway?

Oh, and why would you want to cool the oil? Cool oil is not the ideal operating temperature for it.
