Is this a rip-off

hi all just need some advice. i've paid £981 for my mk1 punto insurance in september. I'm 19 and have 1 years NCB, and the car is a 1996 1.1 55S.

now i'm getting a mk2 punto, 2002 1.2 Active so i phoned up my insurance company to get a quote on changing it over to the new car.....and they want 250 for the honour. i feel this is pretty steep to be honest and i was wondering what others thought about it?

so they are adding £250 for 9 months cover & a change of vehicle?
the car you are changing to has a bigger engine and is newer so higher value

yeah i was expecting a increase but not £250 to be honest. although i havent any experience of this so could just be me

im paying 1400 for my 52 reg punto and when i get my 1st year no claims it will still be 1200

As far as car insurance for us young'ns go,i dont think its all that bad. When i've been looking i found a cheapest annual quote of 4k once lol Your premium seems pretty good though. Good luck and drive safe so you dont have to claim haha

Admin could be upto £50. So thats only £200 for 9 months. Whats that? £22.22 a month.

My cheapest was just over £1800 for sporting 03 Punto. Its only a 1.2, i think that the extra 250 isn't that bad to be honest.
