Yeah, I would be super cautious after my adventures with wearing my cam shaft. How smooth running is the rod, it should slide very easily. Also was the cam end of the rod worn at all?

its fine now honest, in side is all clean as it should be as it had oil change when i took engine out to fit new clutch
I've now got tomorrow off of work Dave, so will be trying to get the 750L running. Thnink it's a similar problem (going to start with the fuel pump anyways). Any tips Dave?

I've got the 750L running. Was no fuel getting into the carb. So removed the pump, looked ok. Replaced it back, and then sucked the fuel up from the tank into the filter, put the in line back onto the pump, and after some craking, BBRRROOOOMMMMMMMMM it sprung into life
Is absoloutly amazing. Not run since Sept iirc and she's running sweet as a nut! Really smooth and really does purr! It's confirmed that the 750L is going to be restored! Our origional Panda, and my first ever car, and it brought a little tear to my eye
So thanks Dave, if it wasn't for this thread I wouldn't have got around to sorting it for ages, and thanks to everyone else who's given tips etc in the thread. Gave me the confidence to give it a go
