Hi everyone, i often use my 30gb ipod on my blue & me system, for some reason it only see's some of the tracks, i have around 2000 tracks on it but it only sees about 40, whats the deal?

I would guess the ones it sees are in mp3 format, with the rest being in mp4, which is Apples own format. You can check this on itunes. Itunes can also convert all your tracks to mp3 without much hassle. I cant remember offhand the exact way to do it but its on one of the options along the top. The only slight problem with this is that it copies the songs into mp3 format, so you end up with 2 of each, which then requires the deleting of the mp4 ones, which is a bit of a pain. Once done though you should be able to listen to all your songs. (Note, any purchased music from the itunes shop or anywhere else where the songs are protected will NOT play on Blue and me, and you get the message "protected media). I believe itunes now have a section of unprotected media to buy, as does play.com. If you need any more detail just ask and I will look when i get home

I too have this problem, if anyone know's how to do this on the itunes where all my music is i would be so grateful, all the songs are mp4 so need them mp3 so i can use my ipod in the car, i love the usb point in the glove box:)

whats the point in having i pod connectivity when legal downloaded tracks from itunes will not play ???

This is a real ball ache with DMR both Itunes and WPA. Unfortunately the only answer to this problem with protected music files is to re-auther them to a non protected format. There are many ways to remove the protection on purchased and protected files , burn to cd then import back making sure u select mp3 format in the itunes options is one way. But there are many free programs on the internet to do all this if u have purchased many songs.

Right then to convert you'r entire itunes library to mp3 follow these steps

1. turn on itunes
2. make sure its in the main library
3. click edit (top of page next to file )
4. scroll down to "select all"
5. click "select all" ( all songs should now have a blue background )
6. click advanced (Top of page next to help)
7. scroll down to "convert to mp3"
8. click convert to mp3

songs should now start copying and you will end up with 2 of each song.voila job done ! now just delete all the none mp3's when finnished.. i had some in blue and some in grey the grey ones being mp3 i just pressed delete and the old ones got binned

i also changed the download preference to do this follow below
1. click edit
2. click preferences
3. click importing
4. change from aac to mp3
hope this helps

 :(

You need to go into iTunes options and make sure it's set to MP3 on the importing section I think first. Depending on what quality you like, 160kbps is normally adequate for most. (y)

But I gave up after an hour of looking and downloaded a program called Tunebite. I now have my entire iTunes library (all purchased tracks) converted to WMA files, DRM-free and copied to my flash drive, all they all play on my Blue&Me! :D
