Just to let you guys know OS 3.0 seems to be working ok in my GPS.

Paired ok (didn't do an update to 3.0 - did a full restore so 'lost' all settings), transfered contacts as expected.

Still get the annoying noise at the start of a call though...

Ben.

Don't suppose this fixes the iPod Touch being able to sync with the car and be used to play songs?
Its ashame you can't stream via bluetooth. Its also crap that i've got to pay £5.99 for it.

I just want to use my iPod in my car.

Nah, it wont do, its the way the music is stored on the device, basicly an ipod when used with windows is formatted in FAT32 (same as a USB stick) so is readable by the car.. as the iPhone is running a cut down version of OS X, im guessing its running HFS+ or something similar, so the car cannot read the device, the file structure or the mp3's..

Hopefully MS / Fiat will work on A2DP Bluetooth streaming! That would be awsome.

I tried plugging a portable hard drive into my fiat the other day.
It contains music plus aload of programs etc for work.

It didn't work, do the files have to be in the first folder (i.e. not in a sub folder) or is it just that it might not be formatted in FAT32 ?
Thanks

Did the hard drive need external power as well?

as long as its in FAT32 it shouldnt be a problem, NTFS might be however..

Ben.

It normally draws power through USB.
Theres 3 connectors on the cable
1 into the HDD
1 Labeled DATA+POWER
1 Labeled POWER

The latter is just to give it a bit extra juice.

When plugged into the car, the light comes on and you can hear the HDD doing its stuff inside, so its working.
Im going to check how its formatted now.

Edit: Its NTFS so I'll have a mess now
