When and if I buy the adapter can I only play songs in the music library? Or can I play any phone sound through the speakers? The main thing being my Deezer app music. (Works a lot like spotify). It is a dedicated app that I subscribe too which allows me to stream and download any number of songs to listen as long as I pay my subscription. If I plug my phone into the adapter will I be able to select my playlist In that app so it plays through my car speakers? I'd also like to know if it sends the sat nav directions through the speakers from Apple maps?

I have a 57 Bravo Dynamic. If any one can confirm that I can it will help me justify the £60 bill for an adapter.

It should work mate, when another music app is being used it kinda replaces the default app if you know what I mean. Like takes over.
Though I'm not 100% that the blue and me will be compatible.

It's worth a try any how, you can always return the adapter if it doesn't...

I understand completely. My surround system has a USB connector that I connect my lightning cable to and it plays my music and then when I pick my Deezer app it will play that music for me. My only thought against it working the same way is that you have to pick the music through the cars trip screen. And I'm obviously going to be unable to select the apps library. I suppose you are right about returning it but I'm tempted to buy from eBay as they are the cheapest I've found. And returning to eBay isn't half an hassle lmao.

Thanks for your help.

It should work in the exact same way regarding the song display etc, as that is built into the phone software itself so all the song names should appear as normal :)

Yes it will work I can confirm this. In my tests at least it will play everything and I mean everything!

I've tried loads of apps, youtube, tune-in radio and even other apps like games seem to work too.

I would say the general rule of thumb is, any sound you can usually hear out of your headphones will also play through blue and me

Fantastic. Thank you all for your help. Santa has been kind enough to order me one. (When I say Santa, I mean the missus. Probably with money that I've given her to be honest haha).

Other good news with this is I should get sat nav directions from Apple maps come through the speakers also. Win win. Shame i need the adapter in the first place however. But I suppose my car was built the same year the 1st iPhone was released. Can't expect it to see into the future lol.

Actually Google maps on iPhone streams directions over Bluetooth. No adapter required for that.

Just sync your iPhone with the car then start navigating. Siri also speaks through the speakers over Bluetooth

Mine doesn't? Didn't think the car accepted sound over Bluetooth. Possible if you have the USB plugged in but not otherwise so I thought

It will only work on google maps and not apple maps. The blue and me system supports HFP (hands free protocol for making phone calls) and google maps uses the HFP to read out directions.

It doesn't support A2DP (media over bluetooth)

I know google maps got updated just a few days ago so maybe this feature was changed/removed but that seems unlikely

Ahh I see. I'll have to have a play with it :p
Thanks :)

Haven't tried google maps. But I know Siri doesn't work on my B&M. The only sound I get through mine other than the voice of the caller. Is the ringtone. I shall try google maps. But if it didn't work for Siri I doubt it will work for maps.

And I'm on the latest software as of a month ago. So unless there's been an update in the last month that I haven't checked then it's up to date,

so just hopped into the car to get to work and thought let's try this then. Both Siri and Google maps worked. Upon holding my home button my display changed to phone and it worked! I swear it didn't work before. Very surprised.

Might be luck of the draw, google maps only sometimes works for me over the cars audio system.

Seems a flawed system however. Siri working through Bluetooth is excellent news so I can send text messages on the go. Wonder does it use the cars microphone or the phones for Siri? Also where is the mic? When calling my brother he said it got louder whilst I was leaving towards drivers side B pillar? Is it in there?

B&M mic on the Bravo is in the interior light housing at the front in the center :)
