ok just been to a shop who is 100% sure i wont need a 70A relay. he says the 600watt invert which i just found out is 1500watt peak flow :S would need a 70 amp relay if i was drawing 600 watts off it. but my psu is 300 watt so he says a 40 amp will do fine is this correct

Smee

Smee, get a 70A just to be on the safe side. Its not like its gonna save you thousands of £ to get a 40A one.

here u go chap, found one through work... hope this is the right one?

bloody hell smee, this is your 3rd post about this relay! just buy the thing!

I=P/V
I=600watts/12Volts
I=50amps

Fairly simplified, but if you buy a 70amp you know you can use the full rating of your inverter plus you can switch something else at a later date too. Just do it man!

Smee, get the yellow pages, look up "Car Accessories & Parts", find someone that sells auto electrical bits and go there and buy the relay and terminals :)

Unfortunately RS don't sell the 9.5mm blade connectors you need for that relay. (which I think is silly of them)

OR:

Pick up phone
dial 0115 9305454
order 1x R70
order 1 pack of FB9
order 1 back of FBI9
give them your address
give them your credit/debit card number
hang up
wait by front door

:)

see why could u not tell me that along time ago ;)

Smee

That one at RS is the same as the one at Farnell.

Tom is right there shuold be loads of Electrical/ Automation places near you that will sell them.
