Internet problems?

Anyone else having internet problems? I'm seeing it between a few friends and we're using different ISPs.

Can't access some websites, can't use teamspeak, and other random stuff.

Anyone else seeing it?

oddly enough, i have a friend on Orange ADSL who is experiencing issues with his connection but it appears to be the router at fault, it is a netgear if you notice anything in common.

I didn't have any problems with FF or downloads, but I lost my connection to the Steam servers, got disconnected from teamspeak, and xfire lost connection too.

Oddly enough yeah.

i was having issues and thought it was just my connection.
Tried resetting router, even updated the firmware for the hell of it.

I think it must have been an atlantic cable being blocked. I reckon a whale was sleeping on it meaning the data couldnt get through.

your BE to lol am at home at uni house though have virgin media 20mb and tbh had more problems than a lead hat with it and its more expensive than the Be lol

actually I'm with o2, Be's network but cheaper and free UK customer services
no traffic shaping, no bandwidth limits

mostly the same with Be ofc lol i thought o2 was a little slower overall than Be...but hey theyve been v.gd overall compared with our old BT connection

o2 insist on having interleaving switched on so perhaps a little slower but more likely to be stable

Nope, had people on virgin, BT and Tiscalli see the problems.

do you all live in the same area. i.e. a local exchange problem?

Nope, all over the country - not that would prove anything as different ISPs use diferent backbone links.. To ping a BT user nextdoor my traceroute could take me to the other end of the country and back. Didn't see any problems last night so maybe a co-incidence that the various systems had maintenance or downtime.

Also, Virgin are primarily Cable based, whereas BT and Tiscali are ADSL based.

out irish office traceroute goes all around the UK then off to amsterdam, over the the USA and then finally to ireland! we have to run a crazy satelite circuit over there as they have never heard of a telephone let alone the internet!
