Hi chaps, been getting this issue recently, the injector light will come on the dash and then the car will start jolting around.

I thought it was the fuel pump as it had a loose connection but it's not cured it. It's annoying as hell, and it nearly totally conked out at one point.

Any one had anything similar?

hi it;s the 900cc chinq, and it does it hot and cold, more noticable when hot though. It doesn't do it on idle though?

I's gradually got worse too, after the MOT is was once every few days but yesterday it was struggling to stay alive!

Just tried a new MAP sensor and it hasn't worked. 1st 5mins of driving is ok then it starts. It's struggling to rev even when my foot is to the floor?

I'm thinking fuel pump next, where is it as I couldn't see it under the car?

I have excatly the same problem on my cinq sporting, it will jolt sometimes when its just started up and im drivin along or sometimes really randomly, also sometimes it will totally die.

I put injector fluid into the car when i filled up with fuel and that cured it for a while, will have to do the same again i guess or check what uve all been sayin

Ignition Coil.

The injector light will come on when its juddering and the car will feel very sluggish when juddering. usualy because one of the coils is cutting in and out and so only half of the engine is running.

It will judder more and more and eventually the coil will just die. Youll get home but only on 2 cylinders.

Replace both or just the one if you like.

Thanks for the useful replies, I wouldn't expect it to be the lambda as it has just gone through it's MOT, plus lambda issues are more apparent when cold.

Chrisst, that sounds like the symptoms i'm having, i'm still unsure though as it could idle all day normally.. why is that?

Where is the fuel filter located?

Eh, no. You can only get lambda issues when warm. The ECU ignores the lambda until it is warm.

Where is the fuel filter located?

Fuel filter is under the middle of the car.

Cheers

cheers! I knew about the ecu ignoring the lambda in warmup phase but it's sometimes the element in the lambda that only works when it's expanded and hot.

Right, changed both ignition coild today, and the same problem!:bang:

Fuel filter, leads and plugs tomorrow.

Then lambda next week!(n)

You didn't read my post, did you? A multimeter costs less than a tenner and membership of ClubCento 20 quid.

The only real way to approach a symptom which could have so many disparate causes is to check the nominal values of each sensor.

Rallycinq has posted all of these for the SPI engines on Clubcento -- in the member's section. Time to join! ;)

Check how often i'm on here. I drive a clio 172 the chinq is my gf's. I'm not about to become a member when i will barely ever use the service.

I have access to the parts so it's not like the costs are spiralling out of control, just a pain in the arse. I also have a multimeter cheers.

Is it not possible to ask for a piece of advice without getting suckered in to buying a membership?
