Hello,

I have seen two different door switches available to switch the interior light, but which one to get and where to put it.

Attached is an image showing the two available switches and one showing the drivers door hinges on my RHD 500F.

Any assistance, especially photographic gratefully received.

Stu.

The first one screws in the hole above the top hinge.
The fiddly bit is getting the earth wire from the rear view mirror down the A-pillar and into the back of it.
You will also need to make sure you have the round riser that is usually welded to the door frame that the switch uses to activate it.
I found out after my new doors were painted that it was not on the new one.
So i drilled my old one off, painted it and then fastened it with a small hex head self tapping screw.

Am I right in thinking the cable to the door switch runs from the mirror round the front window rubber and out through a oval hole at the bottom of the window into the bonnet area and back out to the hole above the door hinge where the switch will be?

As i said in an earlier post pull any wires up/down pillars by attaching a small washer to some string and dragging it with a strong magnet wrapped in a cloth
