I got bored the other day, then I found some spray paints. Here's what I've "achieved" so far.

I'm also thinking about covering the roof lining and parcel shelf in fun fur but haven't decided yet what colour I'm gonna do it in. Any ideas on what would be the best way stick the fur on, I was thinking about trying spraytack.

Hmmmmmm...thats interesting! Not to my tastes but whatever floats ur boat mate!! Its all good! :D
i've done mine in black carbon fibre all round. Gona get my seats and door cards retrimmed in black leather soon. By the way does anybody know if there is meant to be a panel on the passenger side under the dash like on the driver side to hide all the wires and fuse box because i hate the fact that my wires look exposed in the car behind the centre console.

I dont think there's supposed to be one there, my uno hasn't got anything there. Don't think it would be too hard to make some sort of panel to cover the electrics tho.

how did you get it all apart?? plz tell, iv tried! i know how to get the heater control bit off and the door to the ashtray and the bottom centre console around the gear stick but not the rest,

please tell me. thanks (y)

Starting from the top.
1. Remove ashtray inner tray, there are 5 screws that hold the ashtray section down, 2 under where the tray should sit in.
2. Switch panel, there are 2 screws either side hidden under blanking plates, once screws are out pull towards rear of car gently, unplug wiring and remove.
3. (assuming that you have removed heater control panel & stereo) There are 6 screws that hold this on. The screws are located either side of the console where the bottom of the dashboard meets the console, there are 2 more at the bottom of the storage area under the stereo, the other 2 screws are located where the console meets up with the air ducts, these screws cannot be removed without removing the dashboard first but I found that the console can be removed by good old brute force but unfortunately snapping the screw mounts on the air duct (the centre consol can be refitted without these screws).
Hope this helps. :)

Hey Icestorm, nice detailing!

I always reckon "the devil is in the detail", you went to the trouble of painting that properly and it shows. You had the guts to try out bold colour choices and use contrasting effects.

Now, just get under that dashboard with a handful of cable ties, willya? ;)

Seriously, you should be able to tidy up those wires and keep them all out of sight, especially under the glovebox. Try some loom tube (the split corrugated tubing) to cover those wires, because as Morten says, they are exposed behind the console.

I really like that funky ashtray (is it? I've never played with a Mk2 and didn't realise that cover folded up!)

Now, I reckon the rest of the interior (glovebox lid, steering column covers, etc.) needs to turn blue as well :) and use some coloured LEDs to illuminate switches etc. At the shop where I work, we have *pink* LED's!

Hey, I just knew I would get a moaning at for not having the stereo cables hidden :D They are on the list of things to be done. I hadn't really thought about painting the glovebox door / steering column covers but now you've mentioned it I might have to give it a go. I have 50 blue leds to attach inside & out somewhere ready to be installed, another thing on the list of things to do :) .
I have decided on having red fur on my roof lining and parcel shelf just need to experiment on what'll be the best way to stick it on, any ideas?

To do list.
  1. Hide stereo wires
  2. Paint remaining plastic parts
  3. Fit LED lighting
  4. Recover roof lining / parcel shelf
