Thought i'd post this in case anyone else comes across it....
When i turned steering to full left lock i kept getting a clicking noise, whether the car was moving or stationary (stationary ruled out CV), that sounded like it was coming from somewhere around centre console and that you could feel through the steering wheel...initial thought was oh **** the steerings knacked
After a little investigation however.....
The plastic panel over the heating vent on drivers side had come loose and the front of it was occasionally coming into contact with the bottom of the steering column at the universal joint where it meets the bulkhead...clipped said panel back into place and no more problem....
Also goes to show sometimes a simple issue can make you think the worst :bang:
