this is my lovely new intercooler ive bough recently for cinq number 2, 20.5" long, core height 8.5", 2.75" deep and a core lenght of 13.5".
im hoping this will be neither to small or to big so cant wait to get it fitted,,,,,,problem is i have no hosing to fit it with, question is what would you all recomend when it comes to materials, e.g all metal piping, all silicone or both as is on the car now,and where is the best place to get it from? and im not sure what size angled pipes i need to piece it togther or how many angles i need really,
thanks :D

You'll have to use a mixture of silicon and metal tube. It'll be very much a matter of fit it and see! The metal pipes really should have swaged ends to prevent the joints being blown apart. Ideally you want to keep as much as possible away from heat sources and to insulate where you can't. Ideally, ducted flow through that intercooler.

It's all in the books!

Can't recommend any one supplier. Tweeks seem to carry most stuff and away from the improbably large tits end of the performance car magazines, things like PPC have other advertisers who look useful.

That's a pretty big intercooler for a low boost turbo!

I would guess looking at that, that your pipes are gonna be different completely to everyone elses (like mine is).. Doesn't the VAD intercooler have both input and output on same side?

Any how I got a punto GT intercooler and as such pipes had to go different route (something i intend to change again during the re-shell) but you can see how different it is in a thread i did ages ago.. I'll go dig it out

thanks for the views and opinions, ye it is fairly big but it looks bigger than it is in the pic, the very small coolers i looked at were a bad design and didnt look very efficient after all i didnt want to fit a small one that causes bad flow and boost drop.
well guess i shall ring around and just order the bits i think i will need and find out if i was right when i come to fit it :)
and thanks for the pics blu73 thats gave me an idea of were i might root mine (y) also it worth mensioning that i probably wount be running low boost forever as im sure the turbo bug will indeed cause a want for more boost once the C/R is lowered in the near future and when when ive sorted some from of failsafe out like water injection or a boost controller.
low boost for now though and the RS2000 pump and adjustable regulator should be hear tomorow :D

cheers
