General insureing the turbo

i am going to insure the turbo how did every1 go about doing theres.
i want to insure it for £3000 greedy i know but worth it.
i wanted a guarentee pay out if i crashed for 3000 instead of them giving me 500 book price

yes but it is so dear been quoted 3300 to insure it + u have to send photos of car and they c if it is worth 3000
dont know wat to do .
if insure it normally its only 500

Don't crash it. I'm sure soon these cars will benefit from classic policies but you'll have limited mileage and need another car. How stock looking is your car? If it's tuned and it looks like it, they might push the policy up. If you can sell it on the basis that it's a classic and you are restoring it etc, they may be more helpful.
