Hiya do i need to tell the insurance company that i have installed tinited rear lights for my fiat punto. I have also kept the other rear lights just in case
i dont know,i dont provide your insurance cover.
as is the same with all insurance questions;to get a true price you need to call up as its unique to you regarding NCD,age, experience, location etc etc
always call before shelling out for mods if premiums are an issue
Dannylad1 - I asume your talking about legal E market tinted light and not the ones that are for show use or off road use only!
You have to remember that you are marking your car less visible to other dirvers so any premium will reflect that, and like window tints i'm sure there is a legal trasmition limit for mot etc.
If you were involved in an accident with tinted lights eg someone running into the back of you they could easily say they didnt see you braking or see your sidelights properly because of the tint. If the light transmition is within the limits then you'd be fine if they were at fault. If it wanst then you wouldnt have a leg to stand on IMHO, and you would be at fault.
So check there legal before you do anything, as telling your insurance you have non road use tinted lights isnt going to be very good if your ever in an accident.
Mine were included in my 'exterior cosmetic modification' (aka paintjob), can't remember what it cost me but not much. Mine are fully legal though, pass the MOT fine and I have red reflectors on the bumper.
