So I'm going to collect my little 500 S tomorrow (with any luck, Hartwell Chester are not installing me with confidence, I'm chasing them to see if it's been registered taxed etc, I will be amazed if they have accomplished this in a day, as on a last check on the dvla it's still not registered)
I get 7 days complimentary insurance which went through fine only to be told by hartwell that I had given the wrong reg.
Go to cancel my corsas insurance that was fine I am then left on hold for half an hour to try and get a new quote on the new fiat. So will try again tomorrow.
Sorry about the rant, has anyone else had trouble with insurance companies or chester hartwell?

Car won't show on DVLA system for about 6 weeks if a new registration ;)

So what's the problem? You gave a wrong reg? Why do you have to call back the next day?

I have the right reg now, and going to collect this morning. Just have a horrible feeling hartwell will turn around and say that I can't take it today for whatever reason.
It's my first brand new car after the my corsa so just hope it all goes ok!

All worked out fine in the end, insurance is effective from today and the car is perfect :D

Your own insurance company should transfer from Corsa to 500 easily if you wish. Mid-term may not even be a charge, or just an admin charge. Ask for a quote though to avoid surprises.

If Hartwell are supplying a new car, surely they advise you of the reg, not the other way around.

I tried to amend my policy and it was far more expensive. So just had to cancel the corsa and take out an entire new policy for the fiat which was a £500 cheaper option!
