rang my insurer up , first quote 422 pounds WHAT!!!! rang back next day [i have a classic car policy with them] goes like this . how old does a car have to be to be classed as a classic on your insurance , he says twenty years .... i say can i have a quote for my fiat panda [older than twenty years] .... he says a fiat panda is not a classic car , end of .. new quote 367 pounds , i say no thanks adrian flux sorry , ring F J how old etc ..... twenty years he says ... i say even a fiat panda ... he says if its twenty years or older it can get classic ins ... new quote 162 pounds 12p including breakdown , sounds ok to me , sorry for rant !!!!

Hahaha try insure a panda when your seventeen it a nightmare I spent a hole year getting it through its Mot and paid almost £1800 to insure it

theres not a lot going for age , but i guess insurance is one plus . good luck on that premium going down........

quit rubbing it in guys... £480 is my cheapest quote this year for Talon. Fallout is going to be way more with the engine swap, even though it will not do anything to the speed as it limited by the gearing.

If you can limit the mileage to 1500 you will save a lot. That seems to be the sweet spot. It just means you need to have lots of cars and employ a rotation system!

What if there will be temporary speedo cable failure during motorway driving? Use the sat nav for speed figures instead.


ps. if there is a "women 26+ available in your household or near by", add her to the policy. If she does not have driving licence, apply for the provisional one (fees applies) she does not have to drive at all. Worked well for my multicar policy.

old owner of car cant find log book , and is now on his jollies for a week , so a little longer wait to see if he can locate it . then i will start ins and tax and see how she behaves out and about , im used to a 3ltr v 6 so a bit of getting used to i think , but looking forward to it .

I'm sorry we couldn't we couldn't help with your premium however we have schemes that can do cars of any age on classic terms so my member of staff advising 20 years old wasn't strictly correct. I would appreciate it if you could PM me your details so I can at least re-educate the member of staff for future reference.
