hi a few weeks ago my girlfreind was insured on my cinq sporting (1997) and the she changed it onto sei sx (1999), the insurance company is now asking for an extra 260 euros from her on the sei :(
are they different insurance groups or anything like that?
seems a bit crazy as they where both had the same engines at the time and the sporting was cheaper to insure then the sx

oh ye shes 21, insurance was originally 1100 euros and odd

Probably just because it's newer, pretty sure (in UK anyway) they're the same group, the Sei SX might even be lower than the Sporting.

yes but by under 2 years
there probably worth the same money, and the sei bieng a safer car with abs etc :bang:

They werent in the the same groups -group 2 for an SX and group 3 for a sporting

Im not sure if they are in those groups now as now emissions also define the insurance group also rather than equipment and engine size so there is a chance all the groups have been re-arranged i.e. the low fund road tax cars are in the lower groups and cars like the sei are in higher groups

A 99 SX should only be 899cc so shouldnt be same engine as a cinq sporting?

I would say its due to age like ecklipse says and due to a rearrangement of groups
