When they ask you 'have you ever had insurance declined?', well it's nothing to do with me personally but when I've been getting quotes for the new car, some companies choose not to quote because the car hasn't got a tracker fitted. Does that count as my having had insurance declined and do I have to declare it when asked?

no. declined is like if you are declined because you are high risk, like if you an alcoholic iirc

nah, insurance declined only has to be declared if its due to exceptional circumstances, excessive penalty points, medical conditions etc

i get alot of insurance companies that wont touch my car, or my future car because of my age and the cars mods or insurance group it has, but thats because they wont qoute for their own rules from their underwriters. its not them declining insurance as such and doesnt have to be declared :)

as said, if you lied in order to get your policy and then found out. If you have loads of points and are a high risk. If you have been banned previously etc.

Things like that. Some insurance companies will only insure people over 50, i dont fit in that category but i havent been declined as such, i just dont fit in their criteria.

Also i think you can be declined if you live in a high risk area (?)

No that wouldn't but just mention it before you take out the insurance.
