Anyone know whats the policy with damage from Hailstones?
The wifes cars got several dings after the Motherof all Hail Storms in Coventry?!!! Serious 50p sized Hail has dented a wing / roof and Bonnet?
I've actually got off lightly - my mates 55 reg. BMW 3-series looks like its been hammered all over?!!??
Our Policy mentions nothing about it?

I heard about this recently, when I was at Warwick Races the other night in a box ;) - got talking to a few guys there, whose cars got damaged in the same way. I am certain one of them said they were covered, but it may be policy dependant.

Anything in the policy about Acts of God?

Kinda the same situation but different! somehow

Someone i work with came ova a brow of a hill and a fallen tree was in the road during a major storm they slid into in their focus, but the insurance comp would not pay out because it was a natural cause / act of god

i guess it depends on the company ur with cud always give them a quick call.

As above - Most insurance policies have the magic "this does not indemnify you against natural disasters, terrorist attacks, or an act of God" (I'll leave the God argument for another day). At the end of the day, a heavy hail storm, isn't a natural disaster, a terrorist attack, and no more an act of God than any other weather... It's hail; it happens quite frequently and I'm sure that if you were to get down to the detail of how big a hailstone has to be before it's an act of God; I suspect that most insurance companies, provided you paid the excess, would repair the car for you. Actually this happened to last year (although it was in a different country, and it was my dad's company car) and the insurance company just whisked the car away for a week and brought it back practically as it came out of the show room!

OK guys - Fully covered by my insurance - went for the inspection yesterday and the Crash repair company my insurers sent me to are going to get the dents out of the Bonnet, Door and rear wing and fit a whole new roof section?!!!! Watch this space!?
