My wife's 500 (2013 multi-air) has signs of instrument cluster failure, the temp and another warning light flash in time with the right indicator and several warning lights are on dimly in the background. I've got a quote from our nearest Fiat dealer (45 minutes drive away) of £675-725 if it is a new instrument cluster including some time for diagnosing the issue. If they're anything like the one in Eastbourne that closed down though I'd not trust them to tie their own shoelaces.

I'm thinking to get it refurbished though and wondered if anyone had used any of the services that advertise online and would recommend them?

Thanks

Mark

£100 for unnecessary diagnostics. Just get one on eBay. Make sure it has less miles than your car. You can up the mileage but not reduced it for obvious reasons.

You could even upgrade to a lovely colour one. They can be bought for around £180. A like for like replacement will be about £80.

Will most likely need a proxy alignment.

I'm more a fan of fixing the old one.

Tap up yellowstilo on here... ship it to his deluxe Netherlands penthouse apartment.. he'll have a look at it and if he can fix it, he will.

Insure the shipment in case the mail-man decides he wants broken clocks to sell on eBay.. Post Office will give you the money to buy them back.. :D

The cost of a Yellow-fix will be around the same price as a low-mileage second-hand clocks from Gus the Gorilla Vehicle Dismantlers.... and you won't have to fiddle about with proxy aligments or trying to sort out the mileage etc. which will cost as much again as your second-hand clocks, if you don't have the equipment/expertise to do it yourself.

Your clocks will stay fixed, whereas the second-hand ones could be 3 weeks away from failure (like my Stilo's second-hand clocks). Where do people dispose of their old ones, do you think...? :D

And you'll "know" the clocks (unlike my second-hand Stilo clocks, which failed an MOT because the ABS light wasn't working.... turns out someone had stuffed a tissue into the light aperture, so easily fixed.. but it could have been something expensive).
