Hello gentlemen.
As part of my gearbox renovation I also ordered a new LuK RepSet, i.e. clutch, pressure plate and release bearing. I was very annoyed to se that they don't follow the original bearing in detail. As you know this is a pull clutch system, meaning that the release bearing is pulling the diaphragm spring. This in turn means that the bearing is assemblied with a snap spring joining two parts on either side of the diaphragm spring: on the inner side is the pulling ring and on the gearbox side is the bearing which in turn is pulled by the fork. On the original Valeo system a plastic guide is holding the spring in place and the pulling ring is bayonet-fittet to the diaphragm spring. Therefore the two parts can be put in place and when pressing on the gearbox, a jerk on the pulley fork will push them together and snap tight.
The LuK system is different. An inner pulley but without the bayonet fitting. I opened the box, and found no decription how to assembly. The parts differed from Valeo layout. And there was a washer and a spring washer apart from the pulley ring and the bearing. After surfing on the LuK site for hours for directions on how to assembly the clutch I gave up and tried the different variants possible. I ended up with this for the most plausible, but I still don't know if I'm right. I attach a picture showing the order of the parts:
On the inner side is the pulley ring (1), an the gearbox side is the washer (2) the spring washer (3) which pulls the pulley ring toward the gearbox side. This way I could press the bearing (4) on the pulley ring and snap fit them together for an assembly.

If you think I'm right, or wrong, please let me know. In the weekend I plan to put everything on the Ducato...
Best regards,
PapaD
