Technical inner cv boot

Hi guys is changing the inner cv boot the same as changing the outer one, re lease wishbone, cut off boot remove any remaining grease. Open clip and pull drive shaft out and replace with new boot. re assemble.

Or
Jack car up...cut off old boot...clean and regrease...install a split boot.
Much quicker and just as effective.

If you go your proposed route remember you'll have to remove CV from shaft aswell.
Also you'll most likely lose your gearbox oil so you'll have to top that up aswell.
