Right, my Bravo (when it first starts) has begun to run on 3. Ive read up about this and I've changed my plugs, leads and coil pack. But still to no prevail. Ive read that you can purchase an injector cleaner which actually works quite well.

Has anyone else had any experience with injector cleaners?

yer can work a treat.buy a bottle of redex and when you go to fill up,pour the lot into your tank :)

Tried to clean them but no prevail, going to have to change. does anyone have or know of anyone with injectors going? or if they have a 1.6 breaking?

before you buy injectors try

BG 44k for petrol
BG 244 for Diesel

google them, yes they are pricey but they work!

saw an endiscope video on a timelapse film of the effects this has on a engine.

after 30 miles injectors are restored, after 100 carbon deposits in the chamber and through the egr are broken down, after a full tank the engine is clear. from tank to exhaust tip.

threw some in my TD 100 and have really noticed the difference!

If the engine is only running on three cylinders when started from cold..could be that the cylinder head gasket is starting to let go. As whilst it's standing, there's a small amount of coolant getting into the combustion chamber. Then when asked to start it has to burn off/eject the coolant from the cylinder, before it fire's properly. Also check the coolant resevior with the cap off, for any small bubbles appearing..another sign that all's not good with the gasket.

Also check the injector coil values, at the fuel rail multi-plug seperate the connection and measure from the pin side. There are five pins, the centre pin is common. Measure from this common pin to the other pins in turn, resistance should all be the same..should be around 12.5 ohms (mine's were). I should have one or two injectors if required.

Hi John, all checked and it is definitely the injector playing up. How mch would you want for one of your injectors? Ta

Well just been to 2 local garages and im looking about £600 for head gasket and injectors.

So to the bay I've found a few engines that take my fancy.

1.6 16v that i can keep out of the car and tune while i still run the other engine.

2.0 20v NASP to drop straight in

or

2.0 20vt to tune off car while running the other engine then drop in.

The 1.6 is probably going to be the most cost effective as i can tune this off the car without having to change any other major elements of the running gear, BUT seems as I'm working away for the next 6 months i can buy buy buy for the 20vt and work on this when i'm on leave.

What do you guys think?

Marcus, I have 3 injectors for a 1.6 going cheap. 25 each. The problem u have is there are about 3 different injector types for a 1.6 u need to know which colour u have.
