I had just got onto the motorway and speeded up to join and just as I got up to around the 70 mark the injector warning light came on and had power loss. The car kept on flashing this warning and each time it would lose power and then get it back straight away. I thought it might be a blockage at the injector as it soon went after a couple of minutes.

Any other suggestions for what it might be or what I can do to sort it????

Phil,

only way to be certain is to get a diagnostic done at a Fiat dealer (@ £40).
That will tell you the extent of the problem (the injector light can come on for many reasons)
A diagnostic may seem expensive, but can actually save you going down costly blind alleys.

Obviously once the problem is revealed find a reputable independant garage to actually do the work (as Fiat charge at least £80/hour).

I hope you get it fixed OK.

Cheers,
Stuart.

Did the injector light stay on?

If not, try a full bottle of injector cleaner and give the car a good workout. It may clear the problem but be prepared for something else to have caused the symptoms. We are talking Fiat here!!

You don't mention which engine you have, but all but the 1400 are multi-point injection (ie 4 injectors).
Your warning light coming on and the resulting loss of power does sound like one or more injectors is kaput.
Most injector faults seem to be electrical and if so no amount of cleaner will do any good.

As I said though, the only way to know exactly what your problems are is by having the diagnostic done. No way around that I'm afraid, but at least it tells you which injector is buggered.
Then comes the really big decision....change one or all four.

Best of luck mate.

its a 1.6sx 2000. the injector light was coming on and off as and when i lost power.
