Bravo HGT 98. The car wouldn't start with the injector light staying on.
FIAT have diagnosed this as being a Phase sensor and say the engine needs to come out and also cam belt needs changing, well it's done 65000 so ok about cam belt. They are quoting my about £950. Any advice. Should i get anything else changed or inspected if i go ahead?

Quite alot has to come off the engine to get to that sensor hence the cost. Bummer :(

Re: Re: Injector prob found advice please

Hmm

Dont know how it works in the HGT but my car had the same problem, and didnt require engine out or anything...is quite easy to change it and takes not long time at all...but mine is a 1.8...
My only problem is my car is dead at the moment, and no one knows why LOL :)

This will be of benifit to you m8, but at least you didnt get the cambelt changed at £600+, then the phase sensor went, costing you another £600+...

Sorry from me aswell, it's not nice when something like this happends to your beloved car...:(

Yogis, it still not going??!?

The phase sensor is behind one of the cam pulleys, I don't think you could even get a spanner on the HGT ones as they are so close to the inner wing.

600 pounds for a phase sensor!?!?!? WOW!!! I paid around 200 for mine including installation!!!
And Tom, it started one of the days, and i took it to my garage to change oil, filter , etc... etc... and thrusday it wouldnt start again...they dont know 100% whats wrong but seems like the ECU might be dying they said... HMMM!! :( Hope not!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Injector prob found advice please

ITs an HGT. Fiat always take the engine out.

I have heard here several people who got their cambelts changed in their HGT and didnt require engine out anymore... How or if it is even true, i dont know!
