The 1.6 8V was a little shoddy when it came to electrics compared to the 1.2 16V but in this case I doubt that wiring is the cause. The injector light will only come on if a sensor in the engine picks up a fault, problem is that almost all the sensors light the injector light.
All I can say is fill up with Optimax as it has cleaners in it, this may help unblock anything that might be blocked. The fact the light goes back out is a good sign, when the light goes on and stays on and you start noticing a loss of power or dodgy sounds, thats when you start worrying. Its not broken yet so don't fix it. Fiat have problems diagnosing problems even if they are obvious.
Use some 10K boost to clean the air intake and keep your eye on your MPG, if it gets really good or bad it could be a Lamda sensor, and the usual 1.6 problem with the EGR valve where the car chugs, looses power and cuts out.
