Can any one shed any light on this prob, car is a 99 marea jtd 105 deisel (common rail), every now and then injector light comes on for a second or two, and engine dies, then light goes out and car carries on, last night same thing happened but light stayed on and car would not restart, half hour later it started as if nothing had happened, also runs a bit rough on very small throttle openings, and sometimes seems to have a slight flat spot around 3000rpm, like starvation or something. Are these Bosch systems? Any thoughts appreciated.

JTD

I had a similar problem recently that turned out to be a loose connection under the dashboard. Your first port of call should be Fiat who will give you a diagnosis from their magic machine. This however, is not always spot on - so you may have to try one or two things before this problem is sorted. My light came on every now and then and was diagnosed as needing a new potentiometer. This is about a £200 fix including labour. However, as my car was only hesitant and lost power and didn't die completely it may be something completely different. I'd hazzard a guess at the injectors. Yes, the systems are BOSCH - Good luck!!

Re: JTD

Is this an indication of water in the diesel? There used to be traps in the fuel filter housing that could be drained, but I don't know if this is still the case with JTDs.

Anyone?
