Injector light displayed..Advice Please...

Hi all

Need some advice please.Driving into work this morning,my injector warning light displayed on my dash.This would only happen intermittently(on for a few seconds then off) over a half hour period and the car would pull roughly from standstill.
After a while the light stopped coming on and the car seemed to correct itself.
Is it possible for a blocked injector to clear itself?Or is this now likely to be an ongoing problem?
If it does come to the worst and they need changing,can I change just the faulty one or will I need to repalce the whole set.?
A rough price on the supply and fit of a set would be great too.
Its a Brava 1.6 Sx P plate by the way.Not due a service for a couple of months yet.

Faulty injector. The ECU cannot detect a blocked injector.

Can a single injector be changed or looking at a new set?
Or can an injector be 'cleaned'?

If they have failed then its in an electrical way. I'd go to fiat and get a diag just to confirm the diagnosis.

Where are you Peter as I may be around your area later this week and could do you a diagnostic and save you a £ or 40 over Fiat!

Tom's diagnosis is usually spot on though, however its usually best to replace the whole set rather than just 1 injector which will make the job even more expensive if its not a faulty injector.

Well if the car fails on me it will be at Waltham Cross,Hertfordhire(just down the road from Enfield actually) or if it keeps going it will be at work at Walthamstow,East London.

The car has now failed completely.Tried to take it out for a test spin earlier,but it just 'died' on me.Just managed to stagger home.

Out of interest,any idea how much I could be looking at for a new set of injectors supplied & fitted...?

From Fiat about £120 each + 4hrs fitting.

You can get them for £50 each though.
