Yo Poppa,

Is this the light with a symbol that looks like a petrol pump nozzle? If it is then it's best to get a muckanic to plug the laptop in and diagnose the fault. That said, I used to have a Punto that did exactly the same thing and several friends experienced this as well. I ran my Punto for 2 years with it staying on sometimes and going off at others. If it's always on then you may have a problem. If it's intermittent then it's probably just another case of the wonderful world of Fiat electrics (bless 'em).

Shabash!

I'd go to Fiat and get it checked out. Is it running ok? No loss of power or missfire?

Potentiometer

Mine failed on Wednesday [again]. I cure mine by taking apart the wiring to the throttle potentiometer, spraying it with WD40 then securing it together again. That fixes it for a bit. When mine comes on though I loose all power.
Like others have said here as well though, you may be better off getting Fiat to diagnose where it is fault reporting from if you are not loosing power.

Ah yes!

my 1.4 would experience injector failure at full throttle in fifth, usually in the right hand lane and never slower than 65mph. HHmmm that car in the rearview mirror seems to be getting larger by the second!
I drilled my airbox to improve BHP and throttle response, but it properly muggled the ECU and fuelling.

Re: Ah yes!

What you will probably have done by drilling the airbox is let lots of hot air get into the engine. You want the air to be as cold as possible to get the most from the engine.

Thats why the stock airbox has the pipework to the front of the car.

thats

exactly what happened. I read in REVS that it would be good and did it without thinking. The injector and ECU never recovered even with a new airbox.

Re: thats

Bummer. Serves you right for reading Revs. ;) (sorry, could not resist that)
