Technical Injection cleaner liquid for Ducato 2.8 jtd effectiveness

Hi, I'd like to know owners of Ducato 2.8 jtd opinion about using liquids for injection cleaning.
I suppose they are not a miracle if they can do something positive but I 'd like to know if they may cause more problems in the engine rather than benefits.

The only fuel additives that I have found make a difference on most modern diesels have been DPF cleaners along with a good blast along dual carriageway for those that are generally pottering around town slowly.
So like you I would be surprised if any discernable improvement.

I had a 2.8jtd that smoked like mad. I filled the diesel filter with Liquimoly diesel purge, after a short drive the problem was gone and never came back
