Hi,
Just inherited a 1998 Canary yellow Seicento Sporting with Abarth body kit. Usually buy German cars, sorry, so totally new experience for me dealing with this little Italian curio. Maybe great first car for my 16 year old.
Honest John web site has pic of it if you search for the make.
Going to take it to my mechanic so he can put it on a ramp to check on rust, car has already had sill welding - have a receipt - but also wanted to check what else I should look out for. There is rust around the windows and on various scraps on wheel arches. Also plastic body had a split from slight contact.
My impressions after 3 hours on a motorway to bring it home aren't great - slow, annoying pedal off set, brakes very spongy, gear selector like a pudding, rust around windows, down on power or perhaps just the way it is.
It's only done 36K and was used for supermarket trips only. Someone at Honest John mentioned it could be a classic, is this a joke? So is it worth some investment as was free?
Any advice gratefully received.
Thanks,
J
