Whats the best one? and whats the advantages? for a 1.2 2000 MK2 punto btw

Do they just make it faster and louder? or do they improve economy atall? see it would be good if I had that argument for one :D

Yeah I would be interested in this too. I have a 1.2 2001 MK2 Punto.

Also are they easy to fit?

Cheers.

Induction kits that are specifically for the car are, usually, a piece of pee to fit, even more so for the 8v engine.

They will make the car feel more responsive and yes they make a nice induction roar. If driven hard with your foot down all day, you'll be able to see the fuel gauge go down with on fitted. If driven normally sometimes they can improve mpg (y)

K&N's are still the most popular open filter- easy to fit and quite cheap. Closed air kits are more expensive, such as the BMC CDA and I assume are more tricky to fit, but apparently give more performance.

I have a K&N 57i kit for sale (see classifieds at top) if you're interested ;)

K&N heard good results about them. BMC some say they are not good value for money.

With my 8v I did a custom install with an A'Pex Integration CAI. It certainly did a difference and the roar is very deep.

I've fitted a BMC CDA to my 2004 Active 1.2 8v.

It does make a niiiiice noise when you put the pedal to the floor and can be driven quitely when you want to, as for performance it does seem to have improved at higher revs.

I went on the motorway the other day, for the first time since I fitted it a while ago. I managed to comfortably accelerate past who ever I pleased
in the fast lane at a comfortable 80+ mph (1.2 8v) cruising speed, which was nice and responsive. Burned off a Saxo who decided to catch up to me eventually,
so I left behind him again, which was nice. :p

Had to get a separate silicone pipe tho, as the parts it came with wouldn't fit my car, oh yeah and I had to get a breather filter aswell!

to be fair whatever induction kit you are going to buy your just buying for the sound as they add nearly no bhp on a 1.2!
i have a green and it sounds very nice along with the powerflow exhaust,
get a k&n if you want it to sound like a nova
the bmc are very quiet and bigger than the engine lol.
they are all easy to fit regardless the type!!

Fair enough.......

the 10hp gain is very very optimistic in fact pretty much unlikely unless you were having a engine remap aswell.

i would expect hp gain to be 1-3.

but they are good :)
on the mk1 punto 60 I have a graph to show a 9.1bhp gain.

The cdas are good but its totally down to installation...
