I've been running my 1.2 8v with the focus induction kit and very very happy with the results and fuel consumption I'm getting.
My car is due for its NCT tomorrow (MOT in UK) and I suddenly had this doubt.... can they fail you for the induction kit?
Mine is securely fastened to the engine block with a custom built steel clamp, so it doesn't move around.
I've still got the original filter but, if possible, would rather leave things as they are.

Any ideas?

True but never underestimate a jobsworth. My eldest failed his driving test because the insurance disc was not evenly separated along the perforations even though he had the counterfoil with him in the car ?

how effective is the induction kit? Is there a guide somewhere on this sort of modification?

Cheers in advance

depends on ur engine. if u have a 1.2 8v, look in the guides section and there is one for fitting a focus induction. they aint too hard to fit with a bit of common sense and very basic knowledge of where things are in the engine bay.
induction kits can increase performance and mpg... but ur looking at spending a wedge on a gsr induction which has proven gains, most cheap kits are more for the noise, and even they can help, but only if they are positioned so that cold air is fed directly into them, otherwise u will just be sucking up hot air which will be detrimental to the cars performance. there are 100s of threads on this subject, just have a quick search.

Thanks to all.
Car went in today and passed without a problem. In at 09:12, out at 09:26.
I do have a question regarding lambda, but I'll post in a separate thread.
