Ooh that package sounds interesting Ming

And Rob, just read your thread from when you made your own induction kit...ever so slightly put me off it haha.

No andi, you didn't get an aftermarket exhaust just a replacement.

Hmm Calumn, think GSR does a package like induction with a remap which sounds a good deal :) .

Ming

Only issue I have with GSR is communication. Had a back and forth with Peter via email and when I actually put an order in, I heard nothing back. I've also heard issues with some payments going through, however, I have heard of completely smooth transactions and that Peter knows what he's doing. Ideally if you go down that route, you'd need to go to a rolling road when Peter and Co are there in person.

Or of course you could get a second hand GSR kit, though they're pretty rare it seems.

Yeah, it was a bit fraught to say the least. What scuppered me was assuming the pipe would be a fairly standard diameter and I could just measure the outside, get an adaptor and put it straight on with a few hose clips. Didn't happen though due to the resin they line the OEM air intake pipe with and found this out a tad too late lol

As I said, measure EVERYTHING in terms of the intake diameters and the like and get it 100% before ordering. Planning is the key and though I did a lot, certain things went a bit tits up and caused issues later down the line. However, I guess I did the hard part so others can learn from my mistakes. If it weren't for those mistakes, I could've done the kit for £70, probably sub-£50 if I'd chosen a cheaper cone. All in though, mine was about £90. Still, I am happy with it, just need to find a new OEM intake pipe should the next owner want to refit the standard set up again

I now pick up some posts that GSR have ceased trading..whether thats true only time will tell..he has been known as the come back kid more than once..he is now targeting the foriegn sites with a new user name so i guess he is hopping on a plane now to get cash in the hand ..say no more..

See i kinda hope that is not true i need him to map my 1.2 16v ECU!!!

Ming

Well if you look at his site you will see he has logged in ..in the last 24hrs so I guess he is still around but laying low for some personal reason..we were good friends for 2 years until he started to play games and refuse to pay me some money he owed me and support us on performance stilo ect..I have no personal grudge again him but he needs to clean his act up big time to get peoples confidence back..at the moment people just desert him because his is just using folk for his own end so it would seem..that is no basis to run a business you will always need people and until he learns to treats folk correctly then he is going to find it hard to get ahead in life and he will struggle on from day to day..If you are reading this Pete..for god sake pull yourself together..treat people with the respect they deserve ..you always listened to the wise one years ago so maybe if your reading this you will listen again..

oh, you mean he hasn't set up another forum as a front to shift more products, only to later abandon it when questions got asked only to go and start up another forum as a front and abandon it when questions got asked, repeat repeat repeat.?

instead he's hiding behind a new username to people who will find it even harder to chase him up due to location?

does he think we were all born yesterday?

his kits may well be(or have been) good in the past, but more recent reviews havent been as promising. the less said about his customer service, appaling attitude when people raise valid questions and even more appaling attitude when they have a complaint the better.

shall i go into his suspect trading practices aswell?

thats for another day and another cup of coffee.

if you read this pete, im not the only one who says this, that shows how little confidence people have in you, all your own making.

I can do nothing more than agree with this he let Hamish and myself down very badly..we very much ran the site performance stilo between us along with stilo sporting until I had enough and left ..from what I saw he left not long after that and the site more or less went down..I noticed that the site was up for grabs and I notified another guy who was starting up a stilo site that performance stilo was there for the taking..he grabbed it along with all the membership but then after some time progressed to a new owner who named it FSOC and from there it went to www.clubfiat.net the rest is history.. that is by the by now and water under the bridge..as I said he seems to be targeting the forums abroard..this is just one of them..

There are others such as ford focus st sites ect if you to search .. now you have the user name..

Never used him/dealt with the guys, so on a personal level I've no issues. That said, I've heard nothing but horror stories about his methods and seem to remember a thread on FF where he took umbridge to complaints about his (lack of) customer services.

Still, following that link I find this particularly amusing

GSR offers to take the product back if people think that it does not do what they expect or is claimed by GSR (but till date nobody has taken us up on this offer).

Presumably that's cos he has been ignoring PM's and emails????

i wouldn't ever reccomend pete/GSR...unless you can find a second hand kit ;)

just need to put my MOD hat on for a second here, two secs-

MOD HAT ON- whilst we might not like the services etc, can we please keep allegations off the boards. there havent been any as such so far but we are treading a line a little, and a lively debate is great and helpful to people, however please bare in mind that unproven allegations can not be made on the public board for obvious reasons.

MOD HAT OFF- he comes across as a tosser and i wouldnt reccomend him even if you paid me.
