Basically I'm looking for a pledge. "If Rob fixes his Sedici we'll make it to a meet somewhere!" :D

When I finally get the Tipo running who would be up for a Sedici/Tipo meet? I know they cost a fortune in fuel and oil so this would be a big commitment, so we better make it worth our money!

If people are up for it, then I need suggestions of venues. Timing is all dependent on when it gets fixed. Opinions people?

yea i'm deffo up for that please make it central i dont mind driving far but a 6 hour drive for me might be pushing it lol, but yeah i'll be there depending on where it is:)

sent an e-mail to fiat. hopefully they will reply. but to be honest there's no rush at the moment. but i reckon we should be able to do something special. especially with so many cars based on the tipo platform! we'll have to publicise it as much as possible though and arrange an appropiate location etc. but i'm sure we can acheive something.

Preferable at an airfield or track and turn up - not sure about 2009 long way off.

So your Sedici can participate? Not sure if that's a good thing as you'll show us all up!

Would be up for something like that. As you said before, track days are mentioned time and again but people drop out or never commit. That's why we would have to make it a worthwhile day. Plenty of notice so people can plan around it and save up. And deposits well in advance.

I would be up for a meet. regarding the comments re track days - the best are those like Castle Coombe last Sat - you park up on a club site and please yourself about the track events - the best of both worlds.....and there is a bar!!!

the reply from FIAT;

In regards to your query in January 1988: assembled using highly automated
production methods, the Tipo was a five-door, hatchback design. Like the Croma
the Tipo was also part of a family of models: in this case the Tipo 2 floorpan
was also used for the Lancia Dedra, Fiat Tempra and other several other models.
The vehicle was offered with five engine options: three petrol units (a 1108 cm3
fire derived from the fire unit fitted to the uno, and carb fed 1372 cm3 and
1580 cm3 units) and two diesels (one being turbo charged).
The Tipo was available in two trim versions, a base level and the “digit”. The
latter, renamed DGT after a few months was equipped with a more comprehensive
range of accessories, as well as digital instrumentation. From September 1991
the 1100cm3 version was produced exclusively for the Portuguese market.
I hope this has been of assistance.

lets get cracking then!!
If the chosen place is accessable for me to actually attend then i commit to getting my respray done + lowering it to show the tipo off in all its glory! Cant say faired than that:)

sounds like fun, i only got a 1.6 8v but i dunno it the car will still be alive in 2009

Although I hope your Tipo is still about in 2009.. It's this next Jan that marks 20 years since the launch of the Tipo.

Should we be inviting all other cars based directly on it's floorpan to be shown next to them? Of course ALL italian cars and their owners will be welcome to come to the event.

Ah, that's much more likely to get a bit of determination... when it's real you actually get off your arrse.

It certainly gives me something to aim for.

well we got people in Scotland and South England... looks like somewhere near Hellcats's (Durham i think) or Sheffield way ... or somewhere around that mark if we are thinking fair. but then who's fair ?

i'd be up for driving down to around that area further than that though could be pushing it. why dont we make it a weekender? find an old airfield or something see if we can get it and ask representitives from fiat to come along etc! We could also make it an official FF meet!

just my 2 cents
