Here in Brazil we dont have Punto, like in europe, the two small cars of FIAT Brazil is Mille (Uno) and Palio.

The Grande Punto here just call PUNTO.

We have 5 options:

Punto 1.4 Fire
Punto 1.4 Fire ELX
Punto 1.8 HLX(Using GM engine)
Punto 1.8 Sporting (Using GM engine)
Punto 1.4 T-Jet (engine comes from Italy)

All 5 doors.

In near future, the engine 1.8 from GM will be change by new 1.9 made by FIAT POWER TRAIN (FPT).

GM and Fiat had a joint venture which produced the Grande Punto and the new Vauxhall Corsa.

GM got Fiat's diesel engine and Fiat got GM's unibody platform.

Of course there were other parts of the deal as well, but that was the main reason for the joint venture.

The joint venture went belly up, so no idea how it's going to affect Fiat's entry into the US market. As like you show with the Fiats in Brazil, the US market petrol cars were suppose use GM engines.

Just Punto (grande Punto) 5 doors, here in brasil we don't lika cars with 3 doors, exept small cars like Uno (yes we have Uno yet) and Palio, Punto, Stillo, Bravo, Doblo, Linea just 5 doors.

Punto T-Jet is very similar the Grande Punto Abarth, the big diference is the number of doors. 5 in T-Jet and 3 in Abarth.

Engine is de same 1.4 Fire 16v Turbo.

Grande Punto Abarth is not avalible in brazilian market.

Whats wrong with 3 doors? You also missed out on the excellent MJet 130! ;)

For to 2011 Punto here in Brazil have 2 brand new Engines:

1.6 16v E-Torq and 1.8 16v E-Torq made by FIAT Power Train in a new factory in Parana, this factory was bouth from BMW in 2008.

This 2 engines will be used um Latin America and Europe.

Now we have in Punto, 1.4 Fire, 1.6 16v E-Torq and 1.8 16v E-Torq

The old 1.8 by GM will not be used any more, de contract to by this engine finish this year.

Punto in Brasil = Grande Punto in Europe

Here don´t have Grande Punto Evo.
