had a test drive in a 147HGT today - nice. chatted with the dealer and he says that the ecu CAN be remapped on this car. Is he lying as i'm sure the other posts ive read on here say it CANT be remapped. Bloody nice car tho!

I'm sure I've read that the 147HGT can be remapped, but the 155HGT can't. I'm sure someone will know.

i thought both cannot be remapped because they are fixed thats y i was told best get a piggyback ecu rather then a superchip!!

Remap: plug in a computer type thing and change the values stored in the ECU

Superchip: take ECU to bits and solder in a new chip

Nope as I believe its not possible due to the ECU memory chips being unwritable. You can superchip them though.

the guy i spoke to said he watched his friend plug in his laptop and remap the ecu! he could be fibbing but he was very sure of it as i tried to argue his point!

out of interest...do any of these superchip/piggyback ecus make a difference to performance? on a 147

superchip yes but not worth the money you pay for it, iv spoken to alot of people that are selling the piggy back ecu and they said it will deffenatly give you a bigger bhp increase then the superchip, but what it does "i think" is let you rewrite the whole intire way the ecu is set up so if you have performance filter it will recongnise it, rather then the standered one won't really, basically it can let you change the whole way the car is setup, well the engine management anyway, it won't change the interior or make you car lower.
but you need to get it done properly
